Joy Stroud Ruhmann, President
Joy Ruhmann is President and a Senior Consultant with Level Up Leadership, Inc. Joy started her professional career in the banking industry in 1982, where she served as a change agent and problem solver in key staff areas such as Human Resources, Operations, Accounting, and Retail Banking. As a manager and leader, she was often challenged by the same issues facing executives today, such as attracting and retaining top talent, enhancing personal accountability and teamwork and executing on strategies and plans. She joined Ruhmann Associates in mid-2001 to begin her training as an organizational consultant and business coach.
Joy is passionate about helping individuals and organizations achieve their potential through personal accountability, self-understanding and strategy-driven execution management.
Joy holds a Batchelor of Science in Business Management from East Carolina University and is a graduate of the NC School of Banking’s Mid-Management and Advanced Management programs. She is also certified in the administration of the Center for Creative Leadership Benchmarks 360, DISC, Values, the Hartman Value Profile, EQ-i Emotional Intelligence and Situational Leadership, the Leadership Bridge.
Richard A. Ruhmann, Senior Consultant
Rich Ruhmann is a Senior Consultant with Levelup Leadership and brings more than 28 years of national and international experience in developing leaders. Rich is a recognized expert at Executive Coaching and developing teams. He has a diverse background consulting with healthcare, financial services, construction, and government. Rich completed his Masters Degree in Psychology and Education from Kansas State College. He taught leadership at the US Army Service Schools and was the Senior Organization Development Consultant to the Commanders of the XVIII Airborne Corps and the 82nd Airborne Division. He lived and worked in the Netherlands for several years while serving with NATO.
Rich served as a consultant with Farr Associates in Greensboro, North Carolina, working directly with Jim Farr, co-founder of the Center for Creative Leadership. He is certified in CCL Benchmarks; DISC, Hartman Value Profile, EQ-i Emotional Intelligence, Transactional Analysis, Personality Adaptations and other assessments.
